Events Manager

Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client in recruiting for an Events Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business that offers a range of training globally. The purpose of this role is to support the business with events ensuring delivery of all aspects are catered for to agreed timescales and budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure successful delivery of Core Training programme and events across the UK and throughout the year
  • Assess operational impact on venue and staff when planning the delivery of agreed new courses / events
  • Research venues, suppliers and contractors, negotiating prices and agreeing contracts where required
  • Produce detailed proposals for each event (for example, timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)
  • Maintain a good working relationship with partners and Trainers/mentors tasked to deliver content on the day of events
  • Ensure sure that insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are followed
  • Work with Sales, Marketing & Events to ensure stage management and course materials are well stocked and maintained to the standards required
  • Ensure venues are cleaned and prepared (dressed) for each course/event planned for the day
  • Manage all pre-event planning, e.g. organising guest speakers and delegate packs
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure events are delivered to the standards expected and research opportunities for new events and better management
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, venue, catering, and travel)
  • Handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly and to budget
  • Manage a team of staff, giving full briefings
  • Organise facilities for car parking, traffic control, security, first aid, hospitality and the media
  • Oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clear the venue efficiently
  • Identify KPI’s that allow the business to monitor the effectiveness of course delivery – and agree with key stakeholders how KPI’s can be measured and reported
  • Implement a process of regularly reviewing feedback from both delegates and staff
  • Provide all necessary post-event reporting and evaluation) according to requirements

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • Experienced events planner and management
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior events manager role is desirable
  • Excellent organisation skills with a proven record of achievements
  • Ability to delegate
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good communications skills
