Finance Manager

Venatu Recruitment Group are working in partnership with our client, an established SME at an exciting point in its evolution, in the recruitment of a Finance Manager.

THE ROLE

  • The successful Finance Manager will take ownership for the monthly management accounts, cash management, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Working very closely with the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will play a critical role in maintaining a strong control environment, managing cashflow and providing trading visibility to the business.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and variance analysis
  • Responsibility for group reporting submissions
  • Maintaining general ledger - sales and Purchase Ledgers including customer debt collection
  • Maintaining monthly inter company balances and reconciling transactions
  • Maintaining daily, weekly and monthly balance sheet control accounts
  • Preparing and taking ownership of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Producing weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts including currency requirements
  • Setting up BACS payments (UK and International)
  • Reconciling UK and currency bank accounts
  • Calculating, presenting and processing payment of VAT
  • Preparing and submitting Intra Stat reports
  • Coordinating and supplying payroll data to the external payroll provider
  • Managing the fixed asset capital expenditure register
  • Reconciling retail and ecommerce sales transactions
  • Arranging credit insurance
  • Supporting the senior management team with timely financial information
  • Acting as main point of contact for external auditors
  • Reviewing stock balances and working with sales team to ensure aged stock is being addressed
  • Advising on problems and suggesting improvements as well as any other ad-hoc duties

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Personality!
  • A background in Retail/Commercial industries (preferable)
  • Excellent Communication Skills – written and verbal
  • Previous experience within an SME environment
  • Qualified or part qualified ACCA / CIMA or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • Fantastic IT skills - Advanced Excel is required
  • Previous experience with Sage 200
  • Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management
  • Ability to work positively with Directors and staff at all levels within the business
