HR Assistant

Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client in recruiting for a HR Assistant. You will be assisting the HR Manager in all aspects of Absence Management, providing generalist front line support on all legislative matters in line with the best practice guidance.

Human Resources Assistant - Maternity Contract The purpose of this role is to support the business during a maternity cover for a period of 9 months to 12 months. 8am – 4.30pm

DUTIES

  • Timely monitoring processing of return to work interviews
  • Weekly monitoring and control of the formal absence management procedure in liaison with the relevant site management
  • Timely and accurate administration and coordination of absence meetings including letters to staff
  • Participation in all meetings relating to absence management including accurate and thorough minute taking. Providing specialist HR support and guidance
  • Assist employees with work matters including personal problems and health related issues maintaining strict confidentiality where appropriate
  • Management of long term sick processes including facilitating, rehabilitation, occupational health and capability interventions in liaison with the HR Manager where appropriate
  • Plan and coordinate staff health and wellbeing activities in line with current sickness trending and the company’s ethical framework
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date employee sickness files
  • Collating and providing statistical absence management data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to the HR Manager and relevant site manager
  • Keeping up to date with employment law changes ensuring the company adopts best practice at all times
  • Provide general day to day support and advise as required to staff and front-line managers in relation to HR policies and procedures in line with the relevant legislation and best practice
  • Complete other duties as and when required to ensure the company meets its objectives

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to GCSE “A” level standard or with proven experience in a similar position
  • Qualified or working towards CIPD level 5

KEY SKILLS

  • Proven experience in a HR environment with comprehensive knowledge of employment law and procedures with particular bias towards absence management
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to multi task, work towards deadlines, prioritise and deal with work volumes to a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Good interpersonal and counselling skills
  • Effective communicator, approachable and diligent
