HSE Coordinator

Venatu Consulting are working with a leading manufacturing business based in the centre of Doncaster for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopting and implementing working practices that are safe and comply with current legislation.
  • Implement, manage and control site H&S communication strategy.
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly MDW review meetings when required.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced, make recommendations for reduction and ensure implantation of any changes agreed.
  • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
  • anage SOP register and ensure site adherence.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Lead in-house training program and working with other departmental managers and employees cascading health and safety issues and risks.
  • Attend site H&S meetings, ensuring minutes are taken and action plans made, including ensuring timely completion of action plans.
  • Work with the occupational health department/providers to ensure employee safety and welfare in line with current legislation.
  • Manage records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers, ensure compliance with RIDDOR regulations, and provide recommendations for ensuring non-repetition of incident/accident.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health & Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry
  • Attend seminars and read professional literature for continuous professional development.
  • Work with Managers to produce a suitable plan to ensure the safe installation of equipment and installations, and ensure adherence to the plan.

Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to ‘IOSH Managing Safely’ level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement activities and how these work within manufacturing.
  • Comfortably deals with complex issues.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Team working skills.
  • Accident investigation.
  • Problem solving.
  • Co-ordinating and delivering learning and development plans.
  • Accurate and on time, add value without affecting the core responsibility of the role.
  • Adhere to policy and ensure others do, ethical, ensure controls in place.
