Low Risk Hygiene Supervisor

Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client to recruit an experienced Night Shift Hygiene Supervisor. The successful candidate will ensure that high standards of factory hygiene are maintained without adversely affecting the safety of product or manufacturing efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Covering all aspects of cleaning / hygiene duties
  • Incorporating full equipment strip downs and deep cleans in the Low risk areas
  • Working with Operations and Key Discipline Heads in departments such as Engineering, Technical and Production
  • Supervising a team of hygiene operatives within the Low Risk night shift department
  • Developing and motivating the night shift hygiene team to enable them to deliver on time, to the required standards and within budget
  • Be responsible for the management, monitoring and improvement of hygiene standards within the Low Risk night shift department
  • Function efficiently and in line with agreed KPI’s
  • Assist in any trials of new chemicals and equipment
  • Ensure that all daily, periodic and deep cleaning is carried out according to the cleaning schedules
  • Department Staff Training: COSHH, Basic Food Hygiene, Basic Health and Safety Awareness and Chemical usage
  • Making sure hygiene operatives receive certificated training in cleaning techniques and the use and handling of cleaning chemicals
  • Supervision of sub-contractors and specialist service providers as required
  • Monitor and report hygiene KPI’s
  • Assist in internal auditing of factory hygiene standards to ensure hygiene standards, process documentation and staff training is continually improved and developed
  • Ensure that the site is routinely operating best practice ethos

Skills and knowledge

  • Experience in a similar role within a similar environment is essential
  • Strong track record in leading and training teams
  • Experience in implementing and managing hygiene schedules
  • Good understanding of significance of pathogen controls and preventive measures
  • Ability to react to hygiene indicators/trends before a quality failure occurs
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to maintain records and write reports
  • NVQ level 3
  • RSH / IEHO Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Training Certificates in: The Management of cleaning and disinfection, Chemical Safety and Hygiene, COSHH Regulations and assessment
  • HACCP systems
  • IOSH Health & Safety

  • Hours: 21:45 – 06:00hrs
  • Shifts: 6 on 1 off
