Operations Manager

Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client to recruit an Operations Manager to cover the South of the country.

Our client is a leading fleet services company consisting of a range of waste handling trucks, commercial vehicles, and plant machinery.
Managing a disparate number of workshops from the Midlands & South, you will be given full autonomy to make day to day decisions and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Profitability and sales – ensuring the targeted level of profit is delivered at each workshop using effective leadership and communication
  • Customer care – develop and maintain productive relationships with key customers and suppliers whilst delivering customer excellence
  • Operational cost – ongoing reviews of all associated operational costs and identifying synergies to reduce overheads
  • Analyse cost reports and recommend and implement measures for reduction
  • People Management – develop and support managers to display effective leadership
  • Continually monitor staff morale and encourage strong methods of communication
  • Health and safety – ensure all workshops adhere to current legislative requirements
  • Monitor Health and safety inspections and ensure solutions are implemented for issues identified
  • Operating licence requirements – implement measurements to ensure vehicle legislation is complied with

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills as well as a proven track record in financial and budget control whilst being focused on the customer experience
  • You will have the ability to motivate, mentor and support your team to deliver excellent results whilst holding the customer at the Heart of everything we do
  • NVQ or City and Guilds in Heavy Motor Vehicle
  • Management experience gained in a workshop environment
  • Financial accounts knowledge
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer system expertise including spreadsheet analysis
