Rental Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the overall day to day rental activities at the depot ensuring it is providing the highest level of customer service and management.
  • Achieve all requested hires with no turn downs, where possible.
  • Manage all rental desk staff (including training, development, performance, holidays, ASTROW time and attendance system etc).
  • Utilisation management.
  • Transport management.
  • Management of rate accuracy.
  • Management of fleet availability/stock mix.
  • Ensure Rental Desk staff upsell all products into customers.
  • Manage all Health and Safety disciplines at the depot, in conjunction with Workshop Manager (with the exception of Airdrie).
  • Ensure all vehicles are safe and secure at the depot.
  • Ensure the depot is clean, tidy and to the highest standard at all times.
  • Ensure all staff provide a first-class service to our customers.
  • Work closely with all departments planning proactive work flow, ensuring over utilised stock is prioritised (i.e. any excess of vehicles are rented as a priority).
  • Manage costs into their depot from other departments/third parties.
  • Credit management including sanity check any credits requested prior to sign off.
  • Ensure all rental rates on the system are accurate.
  • Handle all/any customer complaints through to completion.
  • Ensure all vehicles are compliant (taxation, fines, insurance, road legal etc).
  • FOC management.
  • Work as a team with the Workshop Manager.
  • Conduct/oversee customer satisfaction survey questionnaires.
  • Ensure the rental desk is clean, tidy and to the highest standards.
  • Quality checks our service levels and the vehicle standards on a regular basis.
  • Induction of new Rental desk staff.
  • Ensure fleet availability/stock mix.
  • Ensure Customer Service/Management.
  • Quality/Service Standards.
  • Zen Desk Management (e-mail ticketing system for the Rental Desk; internally and for customers).
  • Check H Status, free of charge and suspension reports daily and manage these effectively.
  • Develop & implement best practices to achieve set targets and KPI’s.
  • Mentor & review staff members on monthly/quarterly basis and report on any training needs & how they are progressing.

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • Previous vehicle rental experience essential
  • Full driving license
  • Computer literate
