SHEQ Manager

Venatu Recruitment Group are working with a company based in Alfreton

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring all areas of the business to ensure they adhere to company Health and Safety procedures
  • Keeping up to date with legal and legislative requirements in relation to Health, Safety and the Environment and introducing procedures as necessary to ensure continued compliance
  • Chairing regular Health and Safety meetings with safety representatives and senior management
  • Providing training to Health and Safety representatives as appropriate
  • Supporting Senior Management in the introduction of ISO 14001 and 18001 and coordinating with external verification bodies to ensure compliance to the standards
  • Working towards the introduction of an integrated management system to satisfy all accreditations
  • Providing support and advise to company employees on all aspects relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
  • Providing timely and appropriate recommendations to the Board of Directors
  • Producing regular metrics and reports on the performance of the businesses in respect of SHEQ
  • Attending management meetings as appropriate to the needs of the business
  • Delivering Health and Safety workshops to employees
  • Carrying out a programme of site audits and safety inspections at all of the Group’s locations
  • Liaising with external auditing bodies as necessary to maintain ISO 9001 accreditation
  • Conducting internal audits on the company’s quality systems
  • Investigating all accidents, incidents and near misses including liaising with clients and/or external authorities as necessary
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in all matters related to Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment

KEY SKILLS

  • NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in SHEQ Roles
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining ISO9001, 14001 and 18001
  • Excellent presentation, listening and consulting skills
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Able to travel throughout the UK and mainland Europe as required
