Stores Person/FLT Driver

Venatu Consulting are working in partnership with our client in recruiting for a Stores Person/FLT Driver based in Doncaster on a permanent basis.

  • Management of material movements onsite.
  • Provide support to the Production team for any material requirements.
  • Manage stock within the main stores.
  • To take delivery of goods delivered into Stores, with the use of forklifts where required (loading/unloading vehicles).
  • Ensure incoming materials are audited, in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and discrepancies.
  • Update computerised stock system to enable accurate stock levels. Put materials away in designated locations after delivery.
  • To prepare materials ready for collection by other suppliers and for the issuing of materials, using the IT systems such as SAP/Epicor.
  • Assist with daily, weekly & monthly stock checks/audits.
  • Loading and unloading of materials onto vehicles and assisting colleagues in this task where necessary.
  • Manage waste on site, ensuring that materials are correctly disposed of in the appropriate skips to maximise recycling possibilities.
  • Housekeeping – internal & external.

Person specification - knowledge and experience

  • Experience of working in a similar role, involving work in managing/movement of materials within Production/Stores environment.
  • FLT licence although refresher test will be required.
  • Knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ideally have knowledge of Waste Recycling.
  • Ability to work to targets as well competent in Math’s and English & Computer Literate.
  • Experience of MHE, physically fit and able.
  • Pass a drug and alcohol screening.


  • Candidate will work a 37½ hour week working on a rotating shift with an unpaid meal break per shift.
  • Monday to Thursday, 6.00am to 2.15pm with a 20 minute break. Friday, 6.00am to 12.00pm with a 10 minute break or;
  • Monday to Thursday, 2.15pm to 10.30pm with a 20 minute break. Friday, 12.00pm to 6.00pm with a 10 minute break.
  • Out of hours/weekend working may be required to cover the needs of the business in certain situations.
