Technical Analyst

Venatu Consulting is working in partnership with our client in recruiting for a Technical Analyst. This position is responsible for the day-to-day support of the business’s IT infrastructure supporting operations at all UK sites with primary responsibility for the Rotherham IT operations.

Your main responsibilities will be to provide exceptional IT customer service and support through company standards and guide lines, logging resolutions thoroughly in the Service Desk System and to be self-motivated and with the ability to interact effectively with business users and business partners. Key focus areas include proactive approach to technical support & problem management and the participation in IT change programmes.

Experiences required

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT support role supporting the following suite of technologies:

  • LAN infrastructure (HP Procurve) incl. Radio-Frequency/Wireless solutions
  • Microsoft Windows based technologies: Office365, Win XP/7/8/10, Active Directory, Server 2008/2012, SQL Server
  • VMware (vSphere 5) & VEEAM Backup and Replication
  • IBM V7000 & QLogic FC SAN
  • McAfee AVD, Airwatch MDM, Forcepoint Cloud Security, Apple IOS
  • Telecommunications – Avaya IP500 Office and IPOCC
  • Database knowledge of Oracle/Pervasive DB’s advantageous
  • AIX Operating systems knowledge advantageous
  • SAP R/3 knowledge advantageous

Job responsibilities and major activities

  • Ensure service levels are met to agreed performance standards
  • To proactively ensure maximum benefit and return is delivered by the IT Services Team through effective prioritisation, co-ordination and direction
  • To co-ordinate business partners whilst meeting key objectives and project deliverables
  • Provide presentations, training and support to ensure business users remain proficient and confident in the use of business systems
  • Adherence to International standard requirements in relation to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (including energy)
  • Systems availability & issue closure to SLA
  • Project deadlines & budgets
  • Competence – aligned with agreed levels via. the departmental Skills matrix
  • Relations with 3rd party suppliers and business users – positive feedback
  • Management monitoring & appraisal
  • Will demand flexibility in working style, location & daily schedules
  • Self-motivated with the ability to interact effectively with users & partners
  • To maintain understanding and knowledge of relevant business processes and technologies
  • Maintain high level of credibility within business - demonstrating understanding of technology
  • Challenge business requirements to ensure cohesion and consistency
