Technical Sales Officer

Venatu Consulting are working in partnership with our client in recruiting for a Technical Sales Officer.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • To manage the sales ordering processing function for your area, supporting and understand the technical elements of the machines and parts and be able to proactively advice about orders to support the Dealers and Territory managers.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Understand the technical elements of the machines and parts and be able to proactively advice about orders to support the Territory managers
  • Interpret the sales orders from the configurator into the order processing system to ensure accurate technical ordering
  • Data entry tasks to input all machine sales orders and invoices into the computer system accurately and timely in line with customer requirements.
  • Complete the booking in of orders and raise purchase orders when required
  • Input parts sales orders into the system accurately and timely in line with customer requirements.
  • Deal with machine returns, warrant credits and issue of certificates as required
  • Process all customer queries on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues on the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To set up new accounts and dealer staff on the Sales Configurator, to provide support to colleagues and training to dealer staff.
  • Configurator – To set up new accounts and dealer staff, to provide support to colleagues and training to dealer staff.
  • Maintaining the customer database
  • Assist colleagues with administrative duties as requested on an ad-hoc basis to provide cover during holidays and sickness.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

  • Experience of technical machinery, preferably in agriculture
  • Working in a similar customer service environment
  • Experience of self-managing your own workload to achieve deadlines
  • Experience of working in a small team
  • Experience of a technical environment relating to parts orders
  • Experience of the sales order process and priorities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work with to do lists
  • Thorough and accurate organisational skills
  • Ability to achieve tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written
  • IT skills on Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
