Transport Coordinator

Venatu Consulting are currently working with our client in recruiting for a Transport Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to effectively co-ordinate the vehicles and drivers ensuring customer requirements and drivers hours regulations are met, to achieve a profitable smooth-running business operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost effective planning of vehicles for Pallet Network to meet customer load plan, ensuring empty mileage is minimised Using the TMS (Truckcom and Pallex) to track consignments both in and out of depot Ensure jobs on the system are priced correctly Informing drivers of their loads/collections, providing all the relevant information Full communication with other Transport Planners on Logistics to combine freight where possible Reacting to changing priorities from customers Evaluating the benefits and costs of different transport options Update the warehouse system for stock and returns Ensure all legal requirements are met including driver’s hours and tacho requirements To build and maintain a relationship with each customer and communicate to them any problems, issues or queries in good time, and assist them in any way possible Managing drivers time and performance, assist with disciplinary investigations Processing of own driver’s wages and monitoring of holidays Collate information and produce weekly KPI’s Maintain compliance of health & safety, ISO9001 and 14001, policies and procedures

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a Transport Coordinator role would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of driver hours
  • IT literate

HOURS & PAY

  • Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7am-5pm/8am-6pm
  • £20,000 - £25,000pa
