We are working with a growing manufacturing company to recruit for 2 Machine Operators at their new facility in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills and grow with an international company.
Benefits
- Salary of £30,631 inc shift pay. Overtime will be occasionally requested
- Shift Pattern: 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday (Alternate Weeks)
- Holidays: 20 days per annum exc. Bank holidays (steadily increasing to 25 after 1 year)
- Company Pension Contribution: up to 5%
Job Responsibilities of a Machine Operator
- Strive for maximum net production: speed maximization, waste minimisation, minimum changeover time
- Machine set-up, including changeovers (mandrel and paper changes etc)
- Organisation of supply of paper and other raw materials to the production line
- Carrying out quality control checks with specific equipment. Checking dimensions of inner diameter, outer diameter, length, packaging, printing, quality of cut and gluing
- Organisation of cleaning machine and machine environment
- Recording productivity and quality data
- Following occupational health and safety and environmental guidelines
- Taking an active role in continuous improvement
- Problem solving
Requirements of a Machine Operator
- Must be prepared to work shifts
- Forklift operator certificate would be preferred (if not, will be trained)
- Manufacturing experience desirable, cutting and finishing machines including the use of different adhesives, papers etc..
- SAP training
- Health & Safety Training
Personal Skills
- Must be enthusiastic
- A team player
- Good organisational skills
- Good communicator
- Must have excellent Health & Safety awareness.
