Hours of work - Monday - Friday 6am - 2.30pm or 7am - 3.30pm
Job Responsibilities of a Steel Fettler Labourer
- Use grinding, sanding, and cutting tools to smooth out steel components by removing burrs, weld spatter, and sharp edges.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including angle grinders, files, chisels, and saws.
- Inspect finished and in-process parts to ensure they meet required quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Support welders and fabricators by preparing materials for the next stages of production.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
Requirements of a Steel Fettler Labourer
- Previous experience in fettling, grinding, or metal finishing is preferred.
- Confident in the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Able to work well independently and collaboratively within a team.
