The location of our Headquarters

If you weren’t aware, our headquarters are located in the city of Doncaster, or as us locals like to call it ‘Donny’. Whether you’ve lived in Donny all your life, or this is the first time you’re hearing of it, here are some interesting facts you need to know…

The Dome

One of the main attractions that Doncaster is known for is the Dome Leisure Centre. In 1989, Princess Diana travelled up to officially open the centre. It was a big progression for Doncaster as it contains the first and only split-level ice rink in the UK.

Paddington Bear

In 1972, Shirley and Eddie Clarkson created the first ever prototype of the infamous Paddington Bear when working in a factory. This was given to their grandchildren the following Christmas. Ironically, one of their grandchildren being Jeremy Clarkson, one of the co-stars of tv programme Top Gear.

Polar Bears

The Yorkshire Wildlife Park is still the only place in England where you can see Polar Bears. They have a habitat especially for the bears. The park is one of the world’s leading centres for polar bear conservation.

St Leger

The Doncaster Racecourse, St Leger Festival, is one of the most prestigious race weeks of the British horse racing calendar. This event has been going on since 1776, meaning it’s the oldest classic horse race in the world.
