Service Technician
Location: Home based, travel UK wide
OTE: £65k per annum

Our client is a leading provider in crane and lifting equipment solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Crane and Lifting Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team who will specialise in their Flying Squad. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of client cranes and lifting equipment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.
Job Description: As a Crane and Lifting Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out the commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of client cranes and lifting equipment, both onshore and occasionally offshore/abroad.
- Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of electrical equipment and systems.
- Conduct fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Manage the commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of a range of client mechanical equipment.
- Assist in spares identification and procurement.
- Produce clear, factual documented reports for all jobs.
- Rigging and lift planning.
- Ensure compliance with site HSEQ requirements.
- Collaborate with site staff to maintain a safe working environment.
- Minimise environmental risks during tasks and utilise available controls when offshore.
- Travel outside of the UK/Ireland for departmental assistance or training.
Skills & Competencies: The successful candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
- Apprentice served in either Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering/ Hydraulic Engineering.
- Experience working within crane industry.
- Experience with Liebherr, Gottwald, and other cranes is an advantage.
- Proficient in commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical and/or hydro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings and translate them into practice.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Bosiet and Mist trained essential.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- In-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance on cranes.
- Familiarity with load monitoring equipment such as MIPEG and PAT.
- IT literate with report-writing skills.
- Possession of a valid UK/Ireland driving licence.
