Overview:
Due to ongoing success and growth, my client is seeking an experienced and driven Demolition Contracts Manager to join our team. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee multiple demolition projects from start to finish - with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and team coordination.
They are looking for someone with hands-on industry experience, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of demolition practices and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple demolition projects, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Oversee site operations, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure statutory compliance.
- Drive health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures across all sites.
- Mentor and support site teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, attending progress meetings and resolving issues as they arise.
- Support the commercial team with payment applications and pricing project variations.
- Produce method statements and risk assessments ahead of project launch.
- Manage subcontractors and uphold strong working relationships across the board.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and ensure staff training is in line with company standards.
- Take full ownership of the delivery schedule and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to estimating and quoting for new business opportunities.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in a contracts management role within the demolition industry (essential).
- Strong understanding of demolition techniques, regulations, tools, and equipment.
- Experience with project planning, cost management, and quality control.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and large teams across multiple sites.
- Construction-related degree preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
- Full UK driver's licence required.
